The Homeglen School of One: Research, Artwork and Education Ltd. was incorporated in 2014. As part of its mandate, the Homeglen School of One is dedicated to the notion that people comprise the most important sustainable resource requiring support and investment. This explains why the Homeglen School of One engages in diverse commercial and not-for-profit collaborative ventures that support innovative educational programs and thoughtful community initiatives found at the crossroads of inspired sustainability, a healthy environment, scholarly excellence, responsible global citizenship, and a vibrant sense of community.

The name Homeglen School of One stems from the recognition of the central role played by one-room school houses in the history and development of Alberta during the twentieth century. Within these pedagogical venues, the hard Sciences and the Humanities were found under one roof and the Homeglen School of One is dedicated to leading trends found at leading post-secondary institutions towards multi-disciplinary approaches to complex research and educational problems.
