M.M. attended Centennial High School in Calgary, Alberta. When she began her journeys with #C-Note YEG-GA Num. 1 22:36 in Spring 2017, she was enrolled in the Combined BMus/BEd degree program at the University of Alberta. She informed the Homeglen School of One that this unique five-year program combines a Bachelor of Music with a Bachelor of Education, while her goal is to teach music in junior and senior high schools. M.M. plays with the University of Alberta Concert Band and she asserts that Classical Guitar is her favorite instrument.

The #C-Note YEG-GA subseries is derived from a panel of Anatolian marble “quarried and upcycled” from a Habitat for Humanity store in Edmonton. This carving is part of a bunch sculptures developed within the larger thematic context of a sustainability and literacy project which has emerged from Project Y150 YEG-GA as it has unfolded in 2017. #C-Note YEG-GA Number 1 is dedicated to female musicians and music teachers in Western Canada, especially those string artists who are serious advocates for Liberal Arts education.

The Sideways Skyscraper
Edmonton, April 24, 2017. 3° /0°.

I just encountered C-Mote YEG-GA, my travel companion. She is beautiful. We met in HUB, the university's sideways skyscraper. I come here often to get coffee, and travel between classes. Right now I am finishing exams, and my last is on Thursday. On Friday I will return to my family in Calgary for the Summer.
